Marfa is a small city in western Texas, USA, located within the Chihuahuan Desert at the intersection of U.S. Routes 67 and 90. It is the seat of Presidio County. It is situated in the northeastern part the county. Marfa Municipal Airport also serves the area. It was founded in the 1880s and named after Marfa Strogoff, a character in the novel Michael Strogoff. Despite being a small settlement, it is a famous art center, a popular filming location and a tourist destination with a few points of interest, such as the Marfa lights, Building 98, the Chinati Foundation, Marfa Municipal Golf Course, and Hotel Paisano.
