Opened on August 6, 2005, designed by HKS, Inc., the stadium is home to FC Dallas (MLS), Frisco ISD football, Frisco Bowl (NCAA), NCAA Division I Football Championship, and National Soccer Hall of Fame. It hosts college football and soccer games, concerts, and various events. The 2021 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game was played at Toyota Stadium on May 16, 2021. The stadium is situated less than a mile away from Frisco city center. There is also a museum named the National Soccer Hall of Fame within the stadium.
