Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Gore Verbinski, written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, scored by Hans Zimmer, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is the second film of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which grossed over $4.5 billion worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing film series of all time. The film stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Jack Davenport, Bill Nighy, Jonathan Pryce, Lee Arenberg, and Stellan Skarsgård. The film was released on July 7, 2006, and won the 2007 Academy Awards for Best Achievement in Visual Effects. It also became the highest-grossing film of 2006, with over $1 billion. 

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was shot on Stages 12 and 31 of Universal Studios in Universal City. Filming also took place at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.
