Shoplifters (Japanese: 万引き家族) is a Japanese crime drama film directed and written by Hirokazu Kore-eda, scored by Haruomi Hosono and distributed by GAGA Pictures. Starring Lily Franky, Kirin Kiki, Mayu Matsuoka, Jyo Kairi, Miyu Sasaki, and Sakura Ando, the film is about a family that relies on shoplifting to cope with a life of poverty. It premiered on 13 May 2018 at the Cannes Film Festival, won the Palme d'Or, and was nominated for Academy Awards for "Best Foreign Language Film of the Year".
