Starring Darsheel Safary, Aamir Khan, Tisca Chopra, Vipin Sharma, the film was released on December 14, 2007. It follows the life of Ishaan, an 8-year-old dyslexic child, and his relationship with his new art teacher. The film won many awards including the Filmfare Award for Best Film for 2008 and the 2008 National Film Award for Best Film on Family Welfare. It received acclaim from viewers and critics. The film was shot in Mumbai and Panchgani, Maharashtra, India. St. Xavier's High School, The Haffkins Institute in Mumbai, and New Era High School in Maharashtra were among the filming locations.
