Massachusetts is one of the eastern states of the USA located in the region known as New England. The state has its official name which is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is bordered by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, by the states of Rhode Island and Connecticut to the south, by the state of New York to the west, and by the state of New Hampshire to the north. The total area of the state of Massachusetts is reported to be close to 10.5 thousand square miles which makes the state among the smallest ones in the country. At that, the coastline of Massachusetts is pretty long and is estimated to be about 15 hundred miles due to a pretty large number of small and medium size islands located along the coast of the state.

The whole area of the state is very green and there are a few natural parks in Massachusetts including Myles Standish State Forest, Cape Cod National Seashore, Warwick State Forest, and some others.
