Sentimental Value, originally titled Affeksjonsverdi, is a Norwegian psychological drama film directed by Joachim Trier and written by Eskil Vogt and Trier. Starring Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Elle Fanning, Jesper Christensen, and Anders Danielsen Lie, the film follows two sisters, Nora and Agnes, as they reunite with their estranged father, Gustav. It premiered on May 21, 2025, at the Cannes Film Festival and was later released on September 12, 2025, in Norway and on December 26, 2025, in the United Kingdom. The film received critical acclaim and won several awards, including Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Stellan Skarsgård) at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.
Affeksjonsverdi was filmed primarily in Norway. The family house scenes were shot at Thomas Heftyes gate 25 in Oslo, while Nora’s apartment was located on Westye Egebergs gate. Deauville, a coastal town in northwestern France, was also used as a key filming location, standing in for the beach and restaurant scenes.
