Nuremberg Locations

Nuremberg is an American legal psychological drama film written and directed by James Vanderbilt, who also wrote the acclaimed films Zodiac (2007) and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). Based on the book by Jack El-Hai, the film follows psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, played by Rami Malek, who is assigned to examine the mental states of Hermann Göring and other Nazi leaders ahead of the Nuremberg trials. What begins as a clinical assignment soon turns into an unsettling obsession, especially as he forms a troubling connection with Göring.

The film features a strong cast, including Rami Malek, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Wrenn Schmidt, Mark O'Brien, Colin Hanks, Lydia Peckham, and Richard E. Grant. Nuremberg premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2025, and was released by Sony Pictures Classics on November 7, 2025, in the United States. The film received widespread critical acclaim.

Filming Locations and Production Details

Filming took place between February 2024 and May 2024. Although the story is set in Germany, Nuremberg was primarily shot in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. One of the real-life locations used in the production was Duna Palota (Danube Palace), a Neo-Baroque concert hall built in 1897, which served as the setting for the bar scene in the film.
