Bethany is a city in Oklahoma, United States, located within Oklahoma County, in the central part of the county. It is part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century and incorporated as a town on August 8, 1910, the city is located about 10 miles northwest of Oklahoma City and to the south of Wiley Post Airport-PWA. U.S. Route 66 passes through the city. It is bordered by Warr Acres to the east and Lake Overholser to the west. The city is home to Southern Nazarene University and Southwestern Christian University, which are the top employers in Bethany. The city has a few attractions like Eldon Lyon Park and Ripper Park.
