Jacksonville, OR, USA

Jacksonville is a small city in the U.S. state of Oregon, situated at the foot of Miller Mountain along a creek that gave the city its name. It lies in west-central Jackson County, Oregon, just west of Medford and southeast of Valley of the Rogue State Park. Jacksonville served as the county seat until 1927 and was also the site of the first recorded hanging in southern Oregon.

The city has several historic buildings and sites. The Jacksonville Historic District was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on November 13, 1966. It features mid-19th-century buildings in architectural styles such as Greek Revival and Gothic Revival. The Jackson County Courthouse, built in 1883, is located in the district. Other buildings that have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places include the William Bybee House. 

Jacksonville is also known for the Britt Music & Arts Festival, a nonprofit performing arts festival established in 1963. Other attractions include the Beekman Native Plant Arboretum, which opened in 1989 and was designed by Alan Horobin. Located near the historic Beekman House, the arboretum features hiking trails and a diverse collection of native plants from southern Oregon.
