Caesars Superdome: Home of NFL’s New Orleans Saints

Caesars Superdome, formerly known as the Louisiana Superdome (1975–2011) and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (2011–2021), is one of the largest domed stadiums in the world, located at 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Opened on August 3, 1975, the stadium has a seating capacity of 73,208 and is best known as the home stadium of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints (1975–2004, 2006–present). On January 27, 2016, it was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places under the name Louisiana Superdome.

The stadium is closely associated with major college football events, including the NCAA Sugar Bowl (1975–2005, 2007–present) and the NCAA New Orleans Bowl (2001–2004, 2006–present). Over the years, the venue has hosted the 1976 Pro Bowl, multiple Super Bowl games, BCS National Championship Games, The Amazing Race 32, AMA Supercross Championship events, and many others. It also regularly hosts basketball games, rugby matches, boxing and wrestling events, conventions, gymnastics competitions, and concerts. It has hosted the annual Essence Music Festival since 1995.
