Kastellorizo (Καστελλόριζο), officially known as Megisti, is a small coastal island located just 1 mile away from Turkey but is part of Greece. It is the easternmost Greek island, located in the South Aegean region of Greece, halfway between Rhodes and the Turkish city Antalya, in the Levantine Sea. The island is famous for its specific culture and cuisine, and it has a few small resort towns. It became a popular tourist destination after the 1991 Italian movie "Mediterraneo" directed by Gabriele Salvatores was filmed there.
