Laconia, New Hampshire: Home of Laconia Motorcycle Week

Laconia is a city in Belknap County, New Hampshire, United States, located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire between Lake Winnisquam and Lake Winnipesaukee. It was incorporated in 1855 and named after the historical region of Greece. The city serves as the county seat. U.S. Route 3 passes through the city. Laconia Municipal Airport, New Hampshire Routes 11 and 106 also serve the area. Laconia is famous for its annual motorcycle rally, Laconia Motorcycle Week. First held in 1916, it is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the United States, making the city a popular destination for motorcycle enthusiasts. Laconia also hosts the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival and the Laconia Multicultural Festival. The city is home to Lakes Region Community College.

Local attractions include Funspot Family Fun Center, founded in 1952 by Robert M. Lawton. It was named the "Largest Arcade in the World" by Guinness World Records. Other points of interest in Laconia are the Gale Memorial Library, Robbie Mills Field, Weirs Beach, the John W. Busiel House, the Cake Theater, the former Federal Building, the Laconia Passenger Station, United Baptist Church of Lakeport, the Busiel-Seeburg Mill, the Colonial Theatre Complex, Opechee Park, Bartlett Beach, and Ahern State Park.
