Lakewood, nicknamed the City of Homes, is a lakefront city in northern Ohio, USA, situated on the shore of Lake Erie, about 6 miles west of Cleveland. Located within Cuyahoga County, the city was founded in 1889 and is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. It is bordered by Lake Erie to the north, Cleveland neighborhoods to the south, Rocky River to the west, and Edgewater and Cudell to the east. The city is served by major highways, including U.S. Routes 6 and 20, and Interstate 90. Lakewood is home to the North Coast College.
