Notre Dame Stadium is a college football stadium located on the University of Notre Dame campus in Indiana, United States, at 2010 Moose Krause Circle. It is situated in Notre Dame, a small community north of South Bend in St. Joseph County, and is next to Purcell Pavilion and the North Dome. Opened on October 4, 1930, and designed by Osborn Engineering, the stadium is home to the NCAA’s Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It has a seating capacity of 77,622 and is nicknamed “The House that Rockne Built” because it was built under the guidance of legendary coach Knute Rockne.
In addition to college football, Notre Dame Stadium has hosted rugby, ice hockey, and soccer games, as well as concerts. Notable artists and bands who have performed there include Billy Joel, AC/DC, Zach Bryan, and Garth Brooks. The stadium also hosted the 2019 NHL Winter Classic.
