South Orange Village, NJ, USA

South Orange Village is a small village in Essex County, New Jersey, USA, located 6 miles west of Downtown Newark. It was incorporated on May 4, 1869. The village is home to Seton Hall University, a private research university. Formerly known as Seton Hall College (1856–1950), it was founded on September 1, 1856, and is known for its men's basketball team. South Orange Village is bordered by Maplewood to the south and west, Newark to the east, West Orange and the city of Orange to the north, and East Orange to the northeast. Local attractions include South Orange Performing Arts Center, The Pierro Gallery of South Orange, The Baird Center, South Orange Community Pool, Meadowland Park, and Montrose Park Historic District. The village is served by County Route 510 and County Route 577 as well as two railroad stations (South Orange Station and Mountain Station).
