Yellow Springs, Ohio, USA

Yellow Springs is a small village located in Greene County, Ohio, United States, along U.S. Route 68. It lies approximately 19 miles east of Dayton and 56 miles southwest of Columbus. The village was founded by William Mills in 1825. In the late 1960s and 1970s, Yellow Springs became an important center for civil rights and peace movements.

John Bryan State Park is one of the major tourist attractions in and around Yellow Springs. Located along the Little Miami River, this scenic state park covers 752 acres. Established in 1951, it offers campsites, picnic areas, hiking and biking trails, and is also a popular spot for rock climbing.

Another popular destination for outdoor lovers is the Glen Helen Nature Preserve, a large nature reserve situated just outside the village. The preserve features 400-year-old trees, beautiful waterfalls, and extensive hiking trails. It is also home to the Glen Helen Raptor Center and the Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center.

Yellow Springs is home to several historical landmarks, including the Richard P. Eastman Covered Bridge, which is located in the southern part of the village. The Yellow Springs Historic District spans 460.5 acres and features historic buildings in the Greek Revival, Italianate, and Federal architectural styles. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1982.

Antioch College is also located in the village. Founded in 1850, it is a private liberal arts college. Antioch Hall and North and South Halls, a group of historic campus buildings, were added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on June 30, 1975. These Romanesque Revival-style buildings were designed by Alpheus M. Merrifield and built in 1852.
