St. Petersburg, FL, USA

The city of St. Petersburg, also known as “St. Pete” and “Florida’s Sunshine City”, is located in Pinellas County in western Florida, United States. It is one of the largest and most populated cities in the state and forms part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Established in 1888 by John C. Williams and incorporated on February 29, 1892, St. Petersburg lies on the northwestern shores of Tampa Bay. Geographically, the city is bordered by the waters of Tampa Bay on three sides, while to the north it borders another large district, Pinellas Park. St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport is situated about 12 miles north of downtown St. Petersburg. The city is located about 22 miles south of Clearwater.

St. Petersburg is known for its beautiful harbor and a small but attractive port located in the Boca Ciega Bay Aquatic Preserve, where many yachts and small boats can be seen. The city is a famous resort destination and an important tourist spot. Local museums, monuments, historic buildings, churches, art galleries, shopping malls, parks, recreational facilities, and other attractions draw visitors year-round. Along the shores of Tampa Bay, there are numerous small parks such as Vinoy Park, Lassing Park, Coquina Key Park, Bay Vista Recreation Center, Pinellas Point Park, Maximo Park, and several others. The city is also home to The Dalí (Salvador Dalí Museum).
