Uttar Pradesh, India

Uttar Pradesh is one of the northern states of India, located on the border between India and Nepal. It is one of the most developed and modern states in the country, with a long history of being under British rule. Uttar Pradesh is bordered by the state of Uttarakhand and the country of Nepal to the north, by the states of Bihar and Jharkhand to the east, by the state of Madhya Pradesh to the south, and by the states of Rajasthan and Haryana to the west. The Capital City Area of New Delhi is also located right at the western border of the state. Uttar Pradesh has a total area of about 94 thousand square miles, which makes it among the country’s top five largest states. 

The city of Lucknow is the capital of the state. Uttar Pradesh is situated on the Gangetic Plain and enjoys a favorable setting, slightly to the west and south of the southern Himalayan Mountains. The state has plenty of world-famous tourist attractions, including the Taj Mahal, several large and important religious centers and historic temples, administrative and social organization headquarters, libraries, parks, natural preserves, and many others. Cities such as Agra, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Jaunpur are among the largest cities of Uttar Pradesh. The area of the state is crossed by the Ghaghara River from its northwestern to its eastern side. Uttar Pradesh has the largest amount of arable land compared with other states, so farming-related business is a key contributor to the state’s economy.
