Brickell, Miami, FL, USA

Brickell is the financial district of Miami in Florida, United States. It is bordered by the Miami River to the north, Biscayne Bay to the east, and Interstate 95 to the west. The neighborhood lies just south of the Central Business District of Miami. The Brickell Avenue Bridge carries U.S. Highway 1 over the Miami River and connects Brickell to Downtown Miami.

Brickell is one of the busiest hubs in the city, home to numerous office towers such as 830 Brickell, Brickell World Plaza, Four Seasons Hotel Miami, and Sabadell Financial Center. The area is also home to foreign consulates, international companies, and major banks. Luxury residential towers, including Brickell House, Echo Brickell, and Icon Brickell, define the skyline. In addition, Brickell features upscale hotels, beautiful parks, popular restaurants and bars -especially along Brickell Avenue- along with chic boutiques and art galleries.

The neighborhood is also home to several historic landmarks. Brickell Mausoleum, located at 501 Brickell Avenue, was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Saint Jude Melkite Greek Catholic Church, at 126 SE 15th Road, was built in the Romanesque Gothic style in the 1940s. Fire Station No. 4, constructed in 1900, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 8, 1984. Southside Elementary School at 45 Southwest 13th Street -now known as Southside Preparatory Academy- was built in 1914 and is considered the oldest elementary school in the county.

There are many other attractions and points of interest in Brickell. Mary Brickell Village is an open-air shopping destination offering a variety of shops and restaurants. The area is also home to important educational institutions, including Florida International University - Downtown on Brickell.
