Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY, USA

Dumbo is a small neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York City, United States, located between the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge. Its name comes from “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”. The area is directly connected to Manhattan via these two bridges. With its prime location along the East River, Dumbo is home to trendy restaurants, luxury boutiques and residences, art galleries, and historic buildings. It is especially known for its cobblestone streets and converted warehouse buildings, and it also hosts many technology companies. The main office of Etsy is located here.

The DUMBO Industrial District is a historic district that has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 22, 2000. Covering about 48 acres, it features former industrial buildings dating back to the 1880s, designed in Greek Revival and Italianate architectural styles.

There are several popular attractions in Dumbo. Jane's Carousel is a historic 1922 carousel located in Brooklyn Bridge Park, offering beautiful river views. Nearby, Empire Fulton Ferry is a popular outdoor area with a playground and picnic spots. St. Ann's Warehouse and the famous Washington Street are other highlights worth visiting in this small but attractive neighborhood. Interstate 278 (Brooklyn–Queens Expressway) runs along the area, and Dumbo is also served by subway and ferry lines.

The neighborhood was used as a filming location for Once Upon a Time in America directed by Sergio Leone. It has also been described by The New York Times as one of the most Instagrammable neighborhoods in America.
