Cape Canaveral is a small coastal city in Central Florida, located east of Orlando. It was formerly known as Cape Kennedy. The area is home to major space-related facilities, including Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Kennedy Space Center, making it globally known for rocket launches and the U.S. space program.

The city lies just south of the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and southeast of the Kennedy Space Center. It is located less than a mile south of Port Canaveral, one of the busiest cruise ports in the world. Cape Canaveral is connected to the mainland via State Road A1A and State Road 520, which link the barrier island to Merritt Island and the rest of Florida.

Geographically, the city is situated on a barrier island along the Atlantic Ocean, offering direct access to beaches and recreation facilities. In addition to its role in the aerospace industry, the area also has historical significance. The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, located within the Space Force Station, is one of the oldest structures in the region. Today, the city features a mix of residential areas, tourist accommodations, parks, and beaches, making it both a residential community and a destination for visitors.
