Philadelphia is one of the largest, oldest, and most important historical and social life centers of the United States, its former capital city, and where the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed. Philadelphia was established by the settlers from the UK in the middle of the 17th century and about a hundred years later it became the place where the main events of the American Revolution took place and the American Declaration of Independence was signed. The city played a key role during the times of the Great Migration and that is how its multinational community has been formed. The modern-day Philadelphia is a key center of commerce and education, with plenty of up-to-date facilities for business, universities, colleges, high schools and schools, as well as a variety of social life and entertainment facilities. The city is famous for its distinctive and special cuisine.
