One of the residential districts of the city of Naples, the community of Caserta can be found in the region of Campania, south eastern Italy. It is an old city with very difficult and winding history. A few times the city was destroyed by the invaders and the volcano which is situated in the neighborhood. In the late Middle Ages the land around the city was purchased by a rich family which payed all the debts, reconstructed the buildings and gave the town the second life. After the World War II Caserta became the venue for a few juridical processes on the guilty in those tragic events. Today's city is a nice community and a wonderful atmosphere, with a few landmarks like the local palaces, squares, monuments, modern facilities for sports and recreation, etc.
