Clovis, New Mexico: Home to the Norman Petty Recording Studio

Clovis is a city in eastern New Mexico, United States, located at the intersection of U.S. Routes 60 and 70, close to the border with Texas. It serves as the seat of Curry County and is the main city of the Clovis Micropolitan statistical area. It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. The city is located in the southeastern part of the county, near Cannon Air Force Base, a US Air Force base. Clovis Municipal Airport serves the area. Local attractions include Ned Houk Memorial Park, Goodwin Lake Trail, Dennis Chavez Park, Norman Petty Recording Studio, the State Theater, and Greene Acres Park. The city has a few historic buildings, such as the Hotel Clovis at 201 N Main Street, which was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on December 27, 1984. It was built in 1931 and designed by architect Robert Merrell.
