Cobourg is a lovely town in Ontario, located south of Rice Lake, between Port Hope and Grafton. It sits along the shores of Lake Ontario, about 61 kilometers east of Oshawa. Known as “Ontario’s Feel Good Town”, Cobourg serves as the seat of Northumberland County and is easily accessible via Highway 401 and the Cobourg Train Station. The area was originally inhabited by Anishinaabe peoples, including Ojibwe-speaking groups, and was later settled in the late 18th century before being incorporated as a town in 1837.
