Dedham is a town in the U.S. state of Massachusetts, located 21 miles southwest of Boston in the eastern part of the state. It is the seat of Norfolk County. The town is bordered by Needham to the northwest, Westwood to the southwest, and Canton to the southeast. It was settled in 1635, incorporated in 1636, and named for the village in Essex, England. The town is home to the Northeastern University - Dedham Campus. Points of interest in the town include Dedham Historical Society and Museum, Dedham Public Library, Wilson Mountain Reservation, Mill Pond Park, Barnes Memorial Park, as well as historic houses like Fairbanks House, the MIT Endicott House, and the Endicott Estate.
