Georgetown is a city in central Texas, USA known as The Red Poppy Capital of Texas. Located along the San Gabriel River, it is the seat of Williamson County and part of the Austin–Round Rock–San Marcos metropolitan statistical area. It was founded in the middle of the 19th century and incorporated in 1866. It is home to Southwestern University, the oldest university in the state. There are many points of interest in the city, including The Williamson Museum, Fountainwood Observatory, Blue Hole Park, Williamson County Courthouse, Berry Springs Park, Inner Space Cavern, San Gabriel Park, the Palace Theatre, Cedar Breaks Park, and Crockett Garden Falls.
