Hazard is a city in eastern Kentucky, United States, located 116 miles southeast of Lexington. The city was incorporated on April 30, 1884, and named for Oliver Hazard Perry, who was an American naval commander. Hazard is the seat of Perry County and has a total area of 7.60 sq mi (19.68 km2). It is home to Hazard Community and Technical College. There are a few tourist attractions and points of interest in the city, such as Perry County Park, Bobby Davis Museum, River Arts Greenway, Triangle Park, Herman Maggard Playground, and Swinging Bridge, as well as a few hotels and stores.
