One of the largest and most populous cities in Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur (कानपुर) is a major economic, industrial, and cultural center of North India. It is located on the south bank of the River Ganga, about 80 kilometers southwest of Lucknow. Kanpur consists of two districts: Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur Nagar. Kanpur Airport is a domestic airport located about 6 miles from the city center, while Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (also known as Amausi Airport) is situated in the Amausi area of Lucknow.
