Middletown, Ohio

Middletown is a city in southwest Ohio, located within Butler County and Warren County, 38 miles north of Cincinnati and 25 miles southwest of Dayton. It was incorporated on February 11, 1833, and is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Middletown is home to a satellite campus of Miami University, established in 1966. The campus is located at latitude 39.524000 and longitude -84.357000.

The city is served by Middletown Regional Airport, Interstate 75, and State Routes 4, 73, and 122.

Location and Geography
Located on the banks of the Great Miami River, Middletown is bordered by Franklin to the northeast, Monroe to the south, and Trenton to the west.

Historic Districts and Landmarks
- The South Main Street District, located at latitude 39.512500 and longitude -84.409167, was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on March 21, 1978. It covers an area of 40.5 acres and contains 76 contributing buildings, including the John B. Tytus House.

- Located at 300 South Main Street, the John B. Tytus House is a National Historic Landmark. It was home to the inventor John Butler Tytus and was built in 1865 in the Romanesque and Tudorbethan architectural styles. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 27, 1975.
