Morehead City, NC, USA

Morehead City is located in Carteret County, North Carolina, United States. It is bordered by Bogue Sound to the south, and the Newport River to the north and east. The Atlantic Beach Bridge connects the city to Atlantic Beach. It is served by U.S. Route 70 and North Carolina Highway 24. The city is home to a few higher educational institutions, like Carteret Community College. It also has several historic sites and buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Morehead City Historic District and Morehead City Municipal Building. Local attractions include Calico Creek Boardwalk, Morehead City Waterfront, Conch’s Point, Morehead City Recreation Center, and Radio Island Public Beach Access. Fort Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach is located to the south of the city.
