Somerville, NJ, USA

Somerville is a borough in New Jersey, United States, located in the Raritan Valley and 30 miles north of Trenton. It is bordered by Raritan to the west, Bridgewater to the north, Hillsborough Township to the south, and Finderne to the east. The borough is served by Somerville Train Station, U.S. Routes 22, 202, and 206. Interstate 287 also serves the area. Incorporated as a borough on April 16, 1909, and named after the county in South West England, it is part of the New York Metropolitan Area.

Somerville is famous for its annual cycling event, the Tour of Somerville. The borough is home to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. It has several places that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including Wallace House, Daniel Robert House, St. John's Episcopal Church, the Old Dutch Parsonage, and the J. Harper Smith Mansion. The Somerset County Courthouse was built in 1907 in the Neoclassical style. It was added to the NRHP on September 7, 1989. This historic building is also on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places.
