Madison, New Jersey: The Rose City

Madison, nicknamed the Rose City, is a borough located in New Jersey, United States. It was incorporated on December 27, 1889, and named after President James Madison. It is served by the Madison Train Station located on the Morristown Line. Route 24 and Route 124 also serve the area. The borough is known as a college town and is home to Drew University and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Drew University is one of the member institutions of The Landmark Conference, founded in 2005. Considered one of the best places to live in New Jersey, Madison is bordered by Chatham to the south, Florham Park to the north, Harding and Morris to the west, and Chatham Borough to the east. Tourist attractions in Madison include Grace Episcopal Church, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts.

Madison was used as a filming location in The Sopranos. Some scenes of A Beautiful Mind (2001) were filmed at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Deconstructing Harry (1997) and The Family Stone (2005) were also filmed in Madison.
