Urbana is a city in Ohio, United States, located at the intersection of U.S. Routes 36 and 68. It is the main city of the Urbana micropolitan area and the county seat of Champaign County, 45 miles northwest of Columbus and 40 miles northeast of Dayton. It is also served by State Routes 29 and 55. The city was founded in the early 19th century. It is home to Oak Dale Cemetery, the burial site of Simon Kenton, an American frontiersman. The city was also home to Urbana University, a private university that opened in 1850 as Urbana College and closed in 2020.
