West New York, NJ, USA

West New York is a town in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States, located in the northern part of the county, on the shores of the Hudson River. Situated on the state border with New York, the town was incorporated on July 8, 1898. The town is part of the New York metropolitan area and is known for its majority Hispanic population as well as its local parades, like the Dominican-American Parade and the Cuban Day Parade. West New York is bordered by the Hudson River to the east, North Bergen to the west, Guttenberg to the north, and Union City and Weehawken to the south. Bergenline Avenue, North Hudson's main commercial district, passes through West New York. The Excelsior Engine Co. No. 2 Firehouse, a historic fire station located at 6106 Polk Street, is in West New York. It was built in 1897 and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and New Jersey Register of Historic Places. The town is served by County Route 501 and County Route 505. Newark Liberty International Airport is located about 15 miles away from the town.
