Serving as the seat of Douglas County, Alexandria is a city in Minnesota, United States, located on Interstate 94 and 132 miles northwest of Minneapolis. The city is served by The Alexandria Municipal Airport, Minnesota State Highways 27 and 29. Known as the Birthplace of America or Alex, Alexandria was settled in 1858 and incorporated on February 20, 1877. There are numerous lakes in and around the city, including Lake Andrew, Lake Victoria, Lake Geneva, Lake Henry, Lake Agnes, Lake Darling and Lake Winona.
