Cripple Creek is a small historic city located 5 miles north of Victor, 20 miles southwest of Colorado Springs in central Colorado, United States. It is the seat of Teller County. The city was developed as a gold mining center, incorporated on June 9, 1892. Cripple Creek Historic District has an important role in Colorado's gold mining history. It has had National Historic Landmark status since 1961.
