Downtown Orlando, often simply called Downtown, is the central business district of Orlando, located in Orange County. Settled in 1875, the area is home to modern office towers, museums, cultural venues, universities and colleges, historic churches, large hospitals, and luxury hotels. It is bordered by U.S. Route 441 to the west and State Route 15 to the east. Neighborhoods and districts located in Downtown Orlando include North Quarter, the Central Business District, Callahan, Parramore, and Lake Eola Heights. The Central Business District is home to numerous banks, consulates, and corporate offices. Church Street Station, the city’s historic train station, is also located here. Some of the tallest buildings in Orlando can be found in this district, such as the Bank of America Center, the SunTrust Center, and The Vue at Lake Eola.

Downtown Orlando is home to several government institutions, including the Orange County Courthouse, a 23-story building completed in 1997 and located at 425 North Orange Avenue. Lake Eola Park is one of the main attractions in the downtown area, offering scenic lake views, an amphitheater, a pagoda, and a playground. The park hosts various events and festivals throughout the year. Another major venue is the Kia Center, located at 400 West Church Street. This famous indoor arena is home to the NBA’s Orlando Magic. Opened in 2010, it has hosted major events, including the 2012 NBA All-Star Game. Other notable attractions in Downtown Orlando include the Orlando Museum of Art, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, SAK Comedy Lab, and the Orange County Regional History Center, among many others.
