Downtown Phoenix serves as the central business district of Phoenix, Arizona. It is the cultural, financial, educational, and touristic center of the city, home to numerous companies, banks, hotels, shopping centers, sports facilities, bars, cafés, and tourist attractions. It is bordered by McDowell Road to the north, E Buckeye Road to the south, 7th Avenue to the west, and 7th Street to the east. The area is also home to a campus of Arizona State University.

Downtown Phoenix is home to the Phoenix Convention Center and Footprint Center. It includes several districts, such as the Government District and the Warehouse District, along with historic neighborhoods like the Roosevelt Historic Neighborhood and the Garfield Historic District.

The Arizona Science Center, located at 600 Washington Street, is a science museum in Downtown Phoenix. This four-story building features a planetarium and an IMAX theater. Symphony Hall, situated close to the Arizona Science Center, is home to the Arizona Opera, Ballet Arizona, and the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Orpheum Theatre Phoenix is a stunning Beaux Arts–style theatre with a capacity of 1,300 people. The area is surrounded by many other theaters and live music venues, including Arizona Financial Theatre, Crescent Ballroom, Herberger Theater Center, Copper Blues Rock Pub & Kitchen, and The Van Buren.

The Phoenix Art Museum is one of the largest art museums in the southwestern United States. Located at 1625 North Central Avenue, it covers an area of 285,000 square feet and houses an impressive collection of more than 18,000 works. Chase Field is located at 401 East Jefferson Street in Downtown Phoenix. Opened in 1998 and formerly known as Bank One Ballpark, it has a capacity of 48,330 and serves as the home ballpark of MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks.

Downtown Phoenix has appeared in several notable films and television shows, including Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock, Pocket Money starring Paul Newman, and Bus Stop starring Marilyn Monroe.
