Downtown Miami is the central business district of Miami, Florida, United States. It is located on Biscayne Bay and includes the Downtown Miami Historic District, Government Center, and the neighborhoods of Park West and Brickell, which are among the fastest-growing areas in the city. The Miami River passes through the district, and the area is served by Metrorail, Interstate 95, and U.S. Routes 1 and 41.

Downtown Miami is the busiest part of the city and serves as its economic and cultural hub. The district is filled with shops, bars, restaurants, high-rise buildings, international banks, consulates, government offices, corporate headquarters, hotels, event venues, museums, parks, historic landmarks, and major tourist attractions. Originally settled in the 1830s, Downtown Miami has three U.S. historic districts: the Downtown Miami Historic District, the Lummus Park Historic District, and the Downtown Miami Commercial Historic District. The area is home to campuses of Florida International University and Miami Dade College, as well as the private Miami International University of Art & Design.

The downtown area offers a wide variety of museums, theaters, and art galleries, including the HistoryMiami Museum, Miami Children’s Museum, Pérez Art Museum Miami, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and the Olympia Theater. Downtown Miami also hosts major festivals and events such as the annual Miami International Boat Show, Ultra Music Festival, and the Miami International Film Festival. The Kaseya Center, located at 601 Biscayne Boulevard, is home to the NBA’s Miami Heat. Lummus Park, created in 1909, is one of the district’s popular green spaces. Another iconic landmark is the Freedom Tower, built in 1925 at 600 Biscayne Boulevard. It is a U.S. National Historic Landmark and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 10, 1979.
