Downtown Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Downtown Cleveland is the central business district of Cleveland, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The area is bordered by Lake Erie to the north, while Interstate 90 forms much of its southern and eastern boundaries. Downtown includes several subdistricts, such as Public Square, East 4th Street, Playhouse Square, the Gateway District, the Nine-Twelve District, the Campus District, and the Superior Arts District. The Campus District is home to Cleveland State University, while the Superior Arts District is known for its community of local artists. Public Square lies at the heart of Downtown Cleveland, at the intersection of Superior Avenue and Ontario Street, and serves as the historic center of the city. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1975. The area is also home to several iconic buildings, including 200 Public Square, Key Tower, and the Terminal Tower.

The Cleveland Mall is another major attraction in the downtown area. This historic public park is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a U.S. historic district. It consists of three sections, including the Memorial Plaza, which features Marshall Fredericks’ Fountain of Eternal Life.

Downtown Cleveland is home to numerous companies, international banks, luxury hotels, shops, restaurants, and bars. Popular tourist attractions include Huntington Bank Field, the USS Cod Submarine Memorial, the International Women’s Air & Space Museum, Rocket Arena, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Arcade, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, and Playhouse Square. The area is served by the Cleveland Train Station, Interstate 90, and U.S. Route 322.
