Downtown San Jose, CA, USA

Downtown San Jose is an important central area of San Jose, located in Silicon Valley, California. The area is considered the business heart of the city, with plenty of offices, major tech companies, and other business establishments situated there. It is home to the Adobe World Headquarters, a multinational American computer software company. There are also facilities of many major companies in downtown San Jose, including Amazon Lab126. San Jose is known for its limitation on the number of floors in buildings due to its proximity to the San Jose Mineta International Airport. 

The city is home to San José State University, a public research university established in 1857. Tower Hall on the campus of San Jose State University is a California Historical Landmark. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library is in Downtown San Jose as well, situated at 150 East San Fernando Street. Founded in 2003, this 8-story library features study rooms, collections, as well as various events and programs.

Downtown San Jose is home to numerous accommodation options, department stores, theaters, markets, and dining and shopping venues. There are many tourist attractions in the area.

• The Plaza de César Chávez (37.3324698, -121.8900134) is a large, beautiful urban park at 191–199 S Market Street in the downtown area. Founded in the 18th century, the park is a great spot for daily walks and is close to many popular landmarks of the city. It hosts various events, including the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest and Christmas in the Park.
• The Tech Interactive, located at 201 South Market Street next to the Plaza de César Chávez (37.3315491, -121.8903708), features an IMAX theater, a gift shop, and interactive exhibits. Opened to the public on October 31, 1998, the museum attracts almost half a million visitors annually.
• The Hotel De Anza is a historic hotel situated at 233 West Santa Clara Street (37.3343907, -121.8951783). It was built in 1931 and designed by William H. Weeks in the Art Deco style. Known for its significant architecture, the building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
• The San José Museum of Art is located near the Plaza de César Chávez at 110 South Market Street (37.3337358, -121.8901185). It was established in 1969 and features contemporary and modern artworks. The museum's historic part, the Civic Art Gallery, was built in 1892 and designed by Willoughby J. Edbrooke. It was added to the NRHP on January 29, 1973.
• SAP Center, formerly known as San Jose Arena, is situated at 525 West Santa Clara Street (37.3327802, -121.9013844). It hosts basketball and ice hockey games, wrestling events, and concerts. Opened on September 7, 1993, the arena is home to the San Jose Sharks (NHL). Its nickname is “The Shark Tank.”
