Nicknamed Hockey Town, Eveleth is a city in St. Louis County, northern Minnesota, United States. Founded in 1893, the city is served by U.S. Route 53 and State Highway 37. Eveleth is part of the Duluth MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is home to the largest free-standing hockey stick in the world, located at 412 Monroe Street. Locals refer to it as "Big Stick" or "The Stick." The city also has other tourist attractions, such as the Eveleth Hippodrome Ice Hockey Rink, United States Hockey Hall of Fame, Leonidas Overlook, Mesabi Trail, and Eveleth Public Library. Eveleth was used as a filming location for North Country (2005). The iron mining and processing plays a key role in the city's economy.
