A small city of Paspébiac is situated in the southernmost part of the province of Quebec in eastern Canada, near the city of Bonaventure. It is a part of the French speaking community and a small city which can be found on the shores of Chaleur Bay. The area has been settled since the early 18th century by immigrants from France. It used to be a very small farmer's and fisher-men's village but in the late 20th century the population of Paspébiac increased up to 3 thousand people, so it has got the status of a city. Up to 95 per cent of the local population speaks French as their native language, and only about 3 per cent of the population speak English. Currently, there are about 14 hundred households in the city.
