Tucumcari, NM, USA

Tucumcari is a city in New Mexico, United States, situated within Quay County, and 175 miles east of Albuquerque. It serves as the county seat. It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. The city is home to several historic buildings, such as the Blue Swallow Motel, located at 815 E Tucumcari Blvd. The hotel has 14 rooms and has been listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since November 22, 1993. It was built in 1939 and designed by W. A. Huggins. Tucumcari is served by several important highways, including U.S. Route 54 and Interstate 40. Tucumcari Union Station, a historic station restored in 2011, also serves the area. It is a popular destination featuring many points of interest, such as the Tucumcari Historical Museum, Tucumcari Railroad Museum, the Former Ranch House Café, Odeon Theatre, the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum and Natural Sciences Laboratory, and the Route 66 Monument. The city is also home to Mesalands Community College.
