Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Locations

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) is the first of a British-American film series based on J. K. Rowling's novel of the same name. The film is directed by Chris Columbus, written by Steve Kloves, and produced by David Heyman. The film achieved incredible success, grossing $975.1 million worldwide. It was released in November 2001. The film depicts Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Maggie Smith, Richard Harris, Robbie Coltrane, Ian Hart, David Bradley, and Alan Rickman. 

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was filmed at Leavesden Film Studios, North Yorkshire's Goathland railway station. Alnwick Castle, Durham Cathedral, Oxford University's Divinity School, and Christ Church, Oxford were among the filming locations. Additional filming took place on Picket Post Close in Bracknell, Berkshire, and King's Cross Station.
