Landman is a contemporary western drama television series created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, based on the podcast Boomtown by Christian Wallace. Starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Michelle Randolph, and Kayla Wallace, the series premiered on Paramount+ on November 17, 2024, and received very positive reviews. Billy Bob Thornton received a nomination at the 2025 Golden Globes. Taylor Sheridan wrote and directed the first episode of the series. The second season was released on November 16, 2025.
Taylor Sheridan is an acclaimed actor, writer, and producer, best known for Yellowstone, Sicario, Hell or High Water, 1923, and Mayor of Kingstown.
During the fuel boom in West Texas, Landman follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) as he fights alongside roughnecks and billionaires in pursuit of fortune.
Filming Locations of Landman
Although the series is set in Midland and Odessa, West Texas, Landman was primarily filmed in Fort Worth. Tommy's house is located at 12035 Vista Ranch Way. Shooting locations included Texas Christian University and the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth. The golf scenes were shot at Rivercrest Country Club. Additional filming for Landman took place at Taylor Sheridan's SGS Studios, located north of Fort Worth. The headquarters of the American Association of Professional Landmen was also used as a key filming location.
