The creator of the show, R. Scott Gemmill, is also known for ER, an American medical drama television series that aired between September 19, 1994, and April 2, 2009, on NBC.
The Pitt was shot at Warner Bros. Burbank Studios in California. Some scenes took place at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
