The film was directed by Jonathan Demme, written by Ted Tally, starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Ted Levine, and Scott Glenn. It was first released on January 30, 1991, and won 5 Oscars including Best Picture. The score of the film was composed by Howard Shore.
